Who Has a Swiss Bank Account in their Back Pocket?

Leave it to the Bourne Identity to Sum it Up
What do you do when you want to make a deep impact releasing your film but have a limited budget for promotion?
Of course you’ll want to sound like a million bucks, but who has a Swiss bank account in their back pocket, or hip for that matter?
One of the hottest new ways to promote movies for release is to broadcast your movie trailer on YouTube to get free hits and generate public interest on a massive, viral scale.
Just think. You’ve already got the footage and editing expertise to create a dynamite trailer to promote your feature. All you’re probably missing at this point is the voice over narration, and that my friend, is well within your reach.
How Could I Forget You? You’re The Only Person I know
When you think of movie trailer voices, you probably have an inkling of who some of the big voices are, maybe you’ve even seen Don LaFontaine on the Geico commercial who is strategically placed in the background narrating the woman in the foregrounds experience as she rifles through her bills at the kitchen table.
You likely won’t forget his voice because for decades it’s in all honesty one of the only ones you’ve ever known. For the record, he started out writing the trailers in the early 1960s before voicing them and was a founding pioneer in the industry. It’s no wonder you know him, but now it’s time to branch out a bit and meet the new crowd of men, even women, who are making waves in this very competitive and entertaining aspect of voice over.
No Swiss Bank Account? No Problem
It doesn’t have to cost a mint to have a voice over recorded for your movie trailer. A great deal of the factoring has to do with how widely the trailer is being distributed, meaning how many people will hear the trailer, which cities it will air in and for how long.
Whether you’re making a trailer and need a narrator for an independent film, screening or for mass public consumption, you’ll be able to find a voice that will meet your needs in the affordability department for the independent filmmaker or a voice that will make your head spin for those releasing blockbusters with a more generous budget.
Ticket Please
What do you look for in a movie trailer voice over?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
